Living… in Seabrook Island, South Carolina. Noah and his father aren’t wealthy, but they enjoy their simple life together and often spend nights on the porch while Noah reads poetry aloud – a practice his father employed to help Noah get rid of his stutter as a child.
Profession… millworker. Noah works hard to help support his dad, and he does hard manual labor in order to make a living.
Interests… spending time with his best friend, Fin. While the two are at a carnival, Noah meets the beautiful Allie Hamilton, daughter of well-to-do parents, and is instantly smitten with her. After convincing her to go on a date with him, they quickly fall in love, sharing an idyllic summer love affair. Though they often bicker, their passion for each other keeps them together.
Relationship Status… still madly in love with Allie. That’s despite the fact that she was forced to move back to Charleston by her parents, who disapprove of Noah’s lack of status and wealth. After writing to her every day for a year with no response, Noah has all but lost the will to live. He joins the Army to fight in World War II and when his service is up, he throws himself into restoring the old, run-down house that he and Allie once admired. It’s a last-ditch effort to win her back.
Challenge… nursing his broken heart. Noah is lost without Allie, who seems to have moved on. She is now engaged to a handsome, wealthy man named Lon. But when she sees in the paper that Noah has restored the old plantation house, she heads back to Seabrook to visit him.
Personality… passionate, brooding, and devoted. Noah is a naturally quiet guy, but Allie brings out his humor and charm. From the moment he saw her, Noah was devoted to making Allie happy and being with her. Though their love has not been easy, Noah is not complete without Allie in his life, and he still hopes that they can rekindle their love all those years later.
