Neil McCauley

Living… by the adage, “Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner.” He’s living in L.A., but he could skip town at a moment’s notice if the situation called for it. And he leads the kind of life where he might have to do just that. Neil has been on the “wrong side of the law” most of his life. But he’s a professional, and no one can do what he does with the same precision and guile.

Profession… career criminal. Neil sells his stolen goods to Nate, an older criminal who helps Neil out and tips him off with key information he has learned. Neil always works with people he can trust, like his close friends Chris and Michael, who jokes that he still doesn’t know what he wants to do when he grows up.

Interests… being professional. Neil likes a job to go perfectly – the timing, the resullt, everything without a hitch. When a new recruit messes up his groove during a heist, Neil takes the mistake extremely personally.

Relationship Status… dating, though never far from single. Neil has a relationship he’s working on, but he has to lie to her about everything, so it’s hard to get close. That, and if things get too hot, he’ll just have to run out on her.

Challenge… evading the law. Recently, ace detective Vincent Hanna has been put on Neil’s case. Hanna is a dedicated officer who will not stop until he has caught his perpetrators.

Personality… calculating and organized. If he has to pick up and leave everything because detective Hanna is on his tail, he will. He’ll start over at the snap of a finger. As he puts it, “That’s the discipline.” Neil isn’t afraid to kill if that’s what he has to do.
