Character Analysis

Grew Up… with strict and stern parents. Nate has always been taught by his father that humility is an important trait, which seems to somewhat explain Nate’s discomfort in the spotlight. Though he may not show it, Nate is rather ambitious, resulting in something of an internal conflict.
Living… in London, England. Nate lives a simple life. He lives alone, drives a small car, and spends most of his time performing menial tasks at AFC Richmond. He does aspire for more in life one day, but for the moment he is content with what he has.
Profession… kit man for AFC Richmond, a Premier League club. It’s not the most glamorous job, but he seems to enjoy it. Nate takes his responsibilities around the pitch seriously, and he is always around the game. Not everyone in the club exactly respects him—particularly Jamie Tartt and his lackeys—but regardless, Nate does his job well.
Interests… organization and football. Nate is a bit of a neat freak when it comes to anything football related as he is quick to scold anyone that walks on the field when they are not supposed to. One cannot help, but respect his incredible attention to detail, a skill that head coach, Ted Lasso, has been quick to identify in him.
Relationship Status… single. Nathan is quite a shy individual, so he rarely puts himself out there. Though he may long for a special connection on the inside, he has to put in a lot of work on his confidence before he is ready for a fulfilling relationship.
Challenge… having his opinion heard. Nate is a rather timid individual and often struggles to stand up for himself and voice his opinion. Being around the game so much, he has developed an impressive intuition for the game of football, but he must learn how to express his ideas in a way that will be heard and enacted. He constantly feels inadequate to the others on the team. As he says, "God, this Place is so posh. Feels like I'm not supposed to be here."
Personality… shy, organized, and brilliant. Even though Nate was never provided the athletic gifts to pursue a professional career in football, he still loves the game and uses his natural intuition and extensive knowledge to make a difference on the field. A true underdog, Nate seeks to shock everyone and truly make a name for himself in life.
