Character Analysis
(Avoiding Spoilers)
Grew Up… in a family of criminals. Victor Vega was poised to enter the world of crime from a young age. Vic’s brother, Vincent, works as a hitman for a Los Angeles kingpin while Vic himself has longstanding ties with the Cabot crime family. Vic has been friends with Joe Cabot, patriarch of the Cabot family, and his son “Nice Guy” Eddie, since he was a young man. To the Cabots, Vic is as good as family.
Living… in prison, until now. Vic has just been released and is living at a Los Angeles halfway house. His parole officer, Seymour Scagnetti, runs an annoyingly tight ship and is going to be checking on Vic to make sure he’s making an honest living. However, Vic has no intention of going straight, and is eager to resume working for the Cabot crime family.
Profession… a menial job unloading cargo at the docks. That’s what he tells his parole officer, at least. But unbeknownst to his handlers, Vic is preparing to work “a real job,” set up by the Cabot family: six professional criminals, each with an alias and a responsibility, teaming up for a diamond heist. Assigned the moniker “Mr. Blonde,” Vic is tasked with crowd control, his specialty.
Interests… oldies radio and violence. Vic loves being a criminal – it’s a field of work that provides an outlet for his sadism. Well-versed in torture and murder, Vic is effective with everything from a gun to a straight razor. These skills comes in handy when the job turns out to be a set-up and the crew is forced to try and ferret out the rat before they’re caught – or worse.
Relationship Status… top secret. Every member of the heist is under strict orders not to reveal any details of their personal life, and Mr. Blonde is no exception. While his sexual orientation is unknown, he neither confirms nor denies living as a “butt pirate” during his four years in prison.
Challenge… staying out of prison. When the diamond heist goes wrong, it’s every man for himself – which is just fine with Mr. Blonde. His challenge is to make it to the rendezvous point in one piece, and see if he can have a little fun in the meantime.
Personality… borderline psychotic. Mr. Blonde has a chilling calm about him and a strange logic to his sadism. He says, “I told ‘em not to touch the alarm. They touched it. If they hadn't done what I told 'em not to do, they'd still be alive.”
