Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Living… in Bemidji, Minnesota. Located way up in the northern-most portion of the state, Bemidji is a chilly town in the winter that is prone to severe blizzards. Molly lives alone, but she has her dad Lou nearby. He owns Lou’s Coffee Shop, which she frequents whenever she needs a hot coffee while investigating a case.

Profession… deputy for the Bemidji Police Department. Molly is one of the best on the force, and you can always count on her to give up her free time to solve even the most baffling crimes.

Relationship Status… single. Molly is just too dedicated to her work for romance. Although recently she’s been teaming up with police officer Gus Grimly, and the two seem to have some chemistry. Still, she’s looking to be married to the job, not married on the job.

Challenge… solving the recent string of murders. Molly was investigating an abandoned car wreck and stumbled upon a dead man who had frozen to death. Before she can even speculate about the man’s death, another man, Sam Hess, turns up murdered. What’s more, Molly thinks that the incompetent and flustered Lester Nygaard, who was often bullied by Hess, might have something do to with his murder. The only problem is, nobody believes that Lester has it in him, so nobody is taking Molly’s hunches seriously.

Personality… devoted, caring, and selfless. Molly gives herself wholly over to her work, and is willing to put herself on the line if that’s what it takes to protect innocents. A true officer of the law, Molly will always do what’s right. Her self-sacrificing nature makes her a brave and dedicated heroine who will stop at nothing to see that justice is served.
