Molly Carter

Overview... successful lawyer who is much less happy with her dating life. Molly has risen through the ranks at her law office by working hard and learning to change her personality around her mostly white colleagues. When she’s with her best friend Issa, she’s much more outgoing and funny, but never feels like she can express her different sides at the same time.

Personality... ambitious, demanding, and self-doubting. Molly struggles with what being a black woman means both in the work place and in relationships and is frustrated by the code-switching necessary to jump from her work life to her personal life. She sleeps with a lot of guys but has trouble finding someone who can settle down, often because she comes on too strong. She wants a serious, loving relationship – sometimes so bad that she prevents it from happening.
