Mike Peters

Living... in Hollywood, although until relatively recently he had been in New York, where he's from. But after breaking off a six-year relationship, he needed a change of scenery.

Profession... aspiring comedian and actor. He's been in L.A. for six months, though, and doesn't have much to show for it so far. He's been then host of an open mic night at a comedy club and a bus driver in a movie. It's not much of a resume so far, but these things take time.

Interests… playing video hockey with his buddy Trent, another actor he knows. Trent isn’t much more successful than Mike is, but he acts like he is. He’s definitely better with the ladies, and he’s trying to impart his wisdom to Mike. 

Relationship Status... broken-hearted. He misses his ex, Michelle, constantly. Trent and his other friends are taking him on trips to Vegas and Hollywood, trying to make him forget about the past by getting with a new woman. But that doesn’t really help ease the hole in Mike’s heart. 

Challenge... letting go of the past. It's hard because he misses Michelle – after all, they dated for six years – but Trent is slowly making him see that the only way to recover is to get back in the game. He's making progress. He's only mentioning Michelle once a day now. 

Personality... well-intentioned and decent, but stuck in a rut and a little depressed. But Mike’s cooler than he appears, and maybe smarter than he acts. He want the successful life that Trent talks about, and he wants to get with girls, but he knows that they aren’t necessarily going about it the right way. He says, “Look, we're gonna spend half the night driving around the Hills looking for this one party, and you're going to say it sucks and we're all gonna leave and then we're gonna go look for this other party. But all the parties and all the bars, they all suck.” In part, Mike just needs to get a better attitude about things and stop being so hard on himself. He's doing better in L.A. than he seems to think.
