Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Living… in London alone in a much less luxurious pad than he used to have with his ex-girlfriend Amelia.

Profession… private bodyguard. Michael’s job is to protect people who fear they are in danger; he will transport them to safety himself, regardless of what comes his way. Prior to Michael’s mistake involving Takashi Kurosawa (an arms dealer who died under Michael’s watch), his clients were rich high-profile criminals who had access to high tech gear, cars, weapons. Since that blunder, Michael’s reputation has been tarnished and now he can only get drug-addicted corporate executives to hire him.

Relationship Status… it's complicated. Michael was in a relationship with INTERPOL officer Amelia Roussel, but now they are separated because he can’t trust her. He suspects it was Amelia who spilled information about his involvement with Takashi. Ever since then, the two have not spoken, until their paths cross again when the Dukhovich trial commences.

Challenge… escorting Darius Kincaid to the International Crime Court in The Hague. Thankfully, Darius has him by his side; Darius wouldn’t last one hour without him. When Vladislav Dukhovich is put on trial for his crimes against humanity during his reign as dictator of Belarus, the prosecutors fail to present any solid evidence/testimonies to put him away. As a last resort, they make a deal with the incarcerated Kincaid, who is one of the most dangerous hitmen in the world; in exchange for the release of his also incarcerated wife, Kincaid agrees to testify against Dukhovich, who he’s done business with before. With Dukohovich’s henchman looking for Kincaid, Amelia enlists Michael to transport him safely to court. Michael agrees even though Kincaid is his enemy. He hopes that the successful completion of this mission will put him in Amelia’s good graces once again.

Personality… paranoid, chatty, and emotional. Michael is an extrovert who likes to babble and make witty remarks, often to the distaste of others. And when it comes to business, Michael’s motto is “Boring is Always Best,” by focusing on elaborate planning that takes into consideration all possibilities. Michael doesn’t like surprises and often loses his cool when something goes awry while he’s on the job.
