Maureen Murphy

Living... in Massachusetts in the 1970s with her two older brothers and crazy parents. Maureen gets her intellect from her mom, but she’s closer to her dad. 

Profession... student. She does exceptionally well in academics, but she is constantly getting abused by girls at her school. They call her boring, but Maureen knows she’s anything but that. 

Interests... rockets, computers, and playing with their dog Major. 

Challenge... being cursed by her gender. Her father shuts down her academic interests because math and science are for boys, not girls. Though one benefit of being is a girl is that her brothers always get in trouble; her dad never blames her even though his “perfect princess” is often the instigator.

Personality... adventurous, mischievous, and ambitious. She is always looking for something fun to do—especially if it’s dangerous.
