Overview… a divorcee who is slipping quickly into middle age, Mary is having trouble trying to navigate London’s mature dating scene. While she puts on a happy front, it’s clear to anyone who observes her that she is not happy with her career as a receptionist or with her life as single woman. “I haven’t got anybody telling me what to do!” she says, trying to look on the bright side. But nobody’s buying that false optimism, including her.

Personality… desperate, lonely, and profoundly unsatisfied. Mary turns to drink in order to find the solace and comfort that she longs for. It’s difficult for Mary to observe her happy friends, Tom and Gerri, who have the kind of relationship that she so desires.
