Character Analysis

Living... in Croydon with his free-loading best-friend Jeremy. It isn’t an ideal living situation for a man in his early 30s, but there are some perks. Like four remote controls taped together to create a device called “The Megatron.”
Profession... a conscientious loan manager at JLB. Mark has a thing or two to say about the real world: “Nothing you want is ever going to happen...Maybe somewhere you can earn a living sitting around drinking margaritas through a curly plastic straw, but in this world you’ve got to turn up, log on, and grind out.” And that’s exactly what he does at JLB.
Interests... ancient history, Sudoku, and Alain de Botton’s weekly podcast. Mark’s an academic at heart. Unfortunately, he was coerced by his father into completing a Business Studies degree instead, so he can only indulge in his spare time.
Relationship Status... painfully single. Too shy to make a proper move, Mark seems doomed to a lifetime of “staring at women on the bus.” He’s especially preoccupied with Sophie, a pretty co-worker who shares the same commute.
Challenge... being a functional member of society. Mark will always find a way to screw things up simply by being, well.. .himself. Flirtations, office meetings, parties – he has managed to bungle them all and will probably continue to do so in the future.
Personality... cynical, annoyingly sensible, and extremely awkward. Mark is the type of guy who will over-think everything. Whether it be a quick voicemail or a simple conversation on the bus, Corrigan never fails to make social interactions deeply uncomfortable for all parties involved.
