Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Overview… a London barrister whose reserve may easily be mistaken for snobbery. Mark Darcy is still recovering from an earth-shattering heartbreak. Frustrated by his mother’s attempts to set him up with (in his words) a “verbally incontinent spinster” named Bridget Jones, he immediately decides to sort his life out. Unfortunately, he and Bridget keep running into each other – and Mark, who is involved with his slim and sexy colleague Natasha, eventually can’t help but notice Bridget’s bumbling charms.

Personality… principled, shy, and a bit stiff. Mark Darcy is at first considered by Bridget to be rude and, even worse, dull. Though his seemingly uptight and haughty personality is a mere carapace under which he hides a delicate and romantic soul. Mark Darcy may be every woman’s dream man, though you’d never know it at first glance.
