Overview… recovering from a tumultuous and violent divorce from her long-time lover, Juan Antonio. To move on from Juan, María Elena planned to live with an architect in Madrid. But she attempted to commit suicide after this plan fell through, and is now back in Barcelona seeking Juan Antonio’s help. Unfortunately, he has moved on, and is living with an American woman named Cristina. When María Elena moves in as well, Juan Antonio’s topsy-turvy love life becomes even more complicated.
Personality… unstable, complex, artistic, and mercurial. María Elena at first acts like a scorned lover around her ex-husband and his new girlfriend. Over time, though, she comes to believe that the three of them can help complete one another.
