Character Analysis

Grew Up… with his mother and father in Chicago. Marc’s relationship with his mother was tense from a young age due to a tragic event that occurred when he was around 10. Their relationship has deteriorated since then to the point that they are no longer on speaking terms.
Living… in London in an apartment owned by Steven Grant, a museum shop worker. He shares a body with Steven that he only takes control over at night. The situation is tense, to say the least. As Marc says, “I can’t tell the difference between my waking life and my dreams.”
Profession… former U.S. marine and mercenary who operated mainly in Egypt. He’s now acting as the vigilante crime-fighter “Moon Knight” at night. He is completely at the bidding of the ancient Egyptian God Khonshu who gives him missions to complete while Steven is sleeping.
Relationship Status… married. Marc’s wife Layla is one of his top priorities. But to protect her from his dangerous lifestyle, he has cut off contact with her and filed for divorce without giving her any reason why. Still though, he has a great love for her and perhaps still wants to make their marriage work despite his difficult circumstances.
Challenge… earning his freedom from Khonshu and figuring out how to share a body with Steven. Khonshu has promised Marc his freedom if and only if he helps Khonshu prevent the return of the goddess Ammit. However, Steven is distrustful of Marc and continuously tries to keep the body from him. This only makes it more difficult for Marc to complete the mission that will ultimately earn him his freedom.
Personality… aggressive, protective, and skilled. Marc is aggressive because he must be. His occupations before becoming Moon Knight demanded violence from him and now so does Khonshu. Marc is also fiercely protective of nearly everyone around him, especially Layla and even Steven at times. Marc uses both his aggressive nature and his excellent combat skills to protect both himself and those he cares for.
