Character Analysis

Living… in an apartment complex by herself even though she’s only a child. She had a falling out with her mother and decided to live alone. As a child actress, she has plenty of money to pay for her own expenses.
Profession… famous star. At least she used to be. Mai is starting to fade from everyone’s sight—literally. It’s impossible to continue to act when no one can see you or remember you from your previous roles. In her desperate struggles to be acknowledged, Mai has started wearing a bunny suit, hoping that will help people to notice her again.
Relationship Status… single. Unfortunately, there is only one person who can see her: Sakuta Azusagawa. Mai isn’t sure she can trust him, but after spending more time with Sakuta, she is starting to fall for him.
Challenge… learning to not care about what people think about her. Mai used to live for applause and her fans. But Sakuta is teaching her that she just needs to be a fan of herself. As he tells her, “It's not like I live for all of humanity to like me.”
Personality… funny, pure-hearted, and sensitive. Mai is sensitive, so much so that sometimes she may be dishonest with her own feelings. But she is starting to discover who she is outside the limelight, and it turns out she’s quite snarky and adventurous. She is also a serious person who is trying her best to live an honest life.
