Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Living... happily, as a newly freed man. After getting caught stealing two smoothie machines, Luis was sent to San Quentin State Prison. Having served his time, he’s now enjoying life on the outside again in San Francisco.

Profession... thief. Despite having been caught before, Luis and his ragtag crew still make a living pulling off heists. Their “work” may be illegal, but it requires a certain entrepreneurial spirit that Luis could potentially channel into a more legitimate job if he ever wanted to.

Interests... Belgian Waffles, wine-tastings, and Neo-Cubism.

Relationship Status... single. Luis’ girlfriend dumped him, but he’s not the kind of guy to let negativity drag him down.

Challenge... helping his best friend Scott Lang. Luis and Scott became besties as cellmates in San Quentin. When Scott is released from prison, Luis is there to pick him up, give him a place to stay, and even offer him a job on his crew’s latest heist. Once Scott gets pulled into the world of superheroes and supervillains, Luis remains a loyal ally. He agrees to help Scott steal a powerful shrinking super suit to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands.

Personality... preternaturally upbeat. Luis is basically the definition of the term “happy-go-lucky.” He’s the kind of guy who can find a silver lining even while explaining that his girlfriend dumped him, his mom died, and his dad got deported. Luis has a very unique outlook on the world, which comes across in the long, rambling, detail-filled stories he likes to tell. He isn’t necessarily the sharpest knife in the drawer, but his guilelessness is usually pretty charming. As he once told Hope van Dyne, “It's not too often that you rob a place, and then get welcomed back. Because we just robbed you!" Most of all, Luis has a huge heart and a ton of loyalty to his friends.
