Character Analysis

Grew Up… on a plantation near New Orleans. But after his family died, Louis fell into a deep despair. After that, he spent most of his time drinking and getting into fights, hoping someone would end his miserable life.
Living… a life he didn’t want. Unfortunately for Louis, his depressive actions were noticed – by a vampire, who fell in love with him. Now the vampire Lestat has made Louis one of the living undead, further prolonging the life Louis hated in the first place.
Profession… plantation owner. But the other people on the plantation are starting to notice that Louis and Lestat never eat. It might be time for a change of location. Besides, in his efforts to avoid human blood, Louis is starting to run out of farm animals.
Relationship Status… complicated with Lestat. Louis isn’t sure what he feels for him – some hate, at least, for the life he’s forced Louis to live. But the bond between maker and fledgling is strong
Challenge… embracing his new life. For better or worse, Louis is a vampire now. He must find some way to accept that, and to find a way of living that doesn’t make him miserable.
Personality… tortured and noble. Louis’s conversion to immortality hasn’t made his depressive personality any better. But unlike his maker, he still cares for the lives of humans, even saying, “Forgive me if I have a lingering respect for life.” He is a passionate and caring person. But his passion can also manifest as anger, which is frequently focused on Lestat.
