Lotte Schwartz

Overview... an unhappy housewife in a loveless marriage with an unsuccessful and neurotic puppeteer. Lotte puts most of her love and time into her pet chimpanzee, which she has sheltered and brought into the family as a kind of stand-in for a baby of her own. When her husband Craig finds a portal that puts them inside the head of actor John Malkovich for fifteen minutes, they become obsessed with the surreal, voyeuristic experience.

Personality… quirky, animal loving, and a little bit crazy. Lotte is incredibly dissatisfied with her life, and feels trapped in her marriage with Craig. She’s desperate to find something to give her meaning, and relishes the chance to escape her life through the experience of being John Malkovich.
