Overview... a white gospel singer in a predominantly black choir. She’s been doing it for about three years and it's still just as awkward as when she started. She doesn’t like being asked about it. She’s trying to keep her life afloat while winning over the love of her life.
Personality... strong, independent, and resilient. Linnea doesn’t care what people think of her. She knows she sticks out like a sore thumb in the choir, and that her deaf children are looked at differently than the other kids. She is the epitome of sacrifice, giving everything to her boys, repressing her day-to-day feelings and saving everything for the stage.

This movie tells the intersecting stories of various people connected to the music business in Nashville. Barbara Jean is the reigning queen of Nashville but is near collapse. Linnea and Delbert Reese have a shaky marriage and 2 deaf children. Opal is a British journalist touring the area. These and other stories come together in a dramatic climax.
