Leigh Anne Tuohy

Grew Up… in Tennessee, where she attended Christian school. Leigh Anne always knew that she wanted to help the less fortunate.

Living… in a suburb of Memphis with her husband and two children, Collins and S.J. The Tuohy family lives in a large house in an affluent part of town. 

Profession… interior designer and full-time mother. Leigh Anne is heavily involved in her local community and in her children’s school. She’s a powerful and well-connected woman, and she’s not afraid to use her influence to protect her loved ones. As she says: “I’m in a prayer group with the D.A., I’m a member of the NRA and I’m always packing.”

Interests… aside from going to football games at her alma mater of Ole Miss, Leigh Anne takes pleasure in helping the needy. She takes a special interest in Michael Oher, a shy young man from a bad part of town. Leigh Anne sees something unique in Michael, and takes him into her home when she sees him walking alone in the freezing rain wearing nothing but a t-shirt. 

Relationship Status… married to Sean Tuohy, a successful businessman who owns several fast food franchises across the country. Leigh Anne and her husband have a loving relationship and, though she gives Sean a hard time, the two are truly partners in everything.

Challenge… saving Michael from his life on the streets. Michael has been in foster care ever since he was young and, despite his kindness and innocence, has never been able to find a family that was willing to give him the opportunities he deserves. Through pure compassion, Leigh Anne decides to invite Michael into her family.

Personality… feisty, strong-willed and dedicated. Leigh Anne doesn’t take any nonsense. She’s willing to stand up for the disadvantaged Michael, who she comes to see as her own child. She helps him get his grades up so he can try out for football, which he has a natural talent for.
