Character Analysis
(Avoiding Spoilers)
Overview… a brilliant boy dealing with the recent death of his parents. And now he and his two siblings are dealing with something even worse than that: a scheming Count who is after their family fortune. Klaus is the studious one in the Buadelaire family. He can match any adult when it comes to intellectual matters. He spent his youth devouring his family’s library– until it burned to the ground, of course. His knowledge of literature has helped him grasp complex ideas. His research skills and photographic memory have saved his life and the lives of his two siblings many times over.
Personality… quiet, subdued and bookish. Do not mistake Klaus’s reserve for fear, or his detached attitude for cynicism. The literate Klaus is, like his siblings, not only brave but hopeful, even if life throws them into one horrible situation after another.
