Kevin Murphy

Living... in Massachusetts in the 1970s. Kevin is the oldest of his other two young siblings, Bill and Maureen. Their father is unconventional, to say the least. For example, he tells Kevin and his siblings: “Go home and play with your father’s gun!”

Profession... student. When he was younger, Kevin had an accident in a swimming pool where his brain went briefly without oxygen. It’s not clear if that’s why he is failing all his classes including study hall, but it’s a good excuse. Kevin has been suspended 37 times and has become an expert at forging his parents’ signatures. That being said, Kevin and his mom Sue are proud that he once got a “C” in history. 

Interests... playing “progressive rock” music in his band with his two other friends. And when he’s not practicing the guitar, he drinks and smokes whatever he can get his hands on. 

Relationship status… single. Kevin can be awkward with girls he likes. The last time he kissed a girl, he chipped her tooth with his shoulder and blood was everywhere. Needless to say, that relationship didn’t work out. 

Challenge... dealing with his angry and often unfair father, Frank. Kevin says he hates Frank and wishes that he could see things from his perspective. But as much as he complains, Kevin still seems to seek his dad’s approval. 

Personality... sarcastic, emotional, and immature. Kevin is a rebel—against his father, against his school, and against anyone who doesn’t like his taste in music. Although he tries to be tough, he has a sensitive side. He once said: "Shut up! Can't you see that I'm having adult feelings?"
