Kevin Gnapoor

Overview… standout student at North Shore High School in Evanston, Illinois. Kevin is a serious scholar and competes against other schools as a member of the Mathletes. For Kevin, “Mathletics” is a varsity sport. When Cady Heron, an attractive and intellectually gifted junior, moves to Evanston from Africa, Kevin makes it his mission to recruit her to join the Mathletes. He calls the lily-white Cady “Africa.”

Perrsonality… self-assured and “gangster” (in a good way), yet nerdy. Kevin draws heavily on hip-hop culture, speaking primarily in Ebonics and harboring a stated preference for women of color. He helms a rap group dubbed “Kevin G and the Power of 3.” He is probably the only student at North Shore HS who carries a business card; his reads: “Math Enthusiast/Bad-Ass MC.” Indeed, Kevin is one of the coolest and smoothest kids in the whole school despite being a total nerd.
