Katy

Living… in San Francisco with her mother and grandmother. Katy often clashes with her family, as she tries to find her place in the world.

Profession… valet driver. Katy parks cars and has become a skilled driver. She works with Shaun, who has been her best friend since high school.

Interests… karaoke singing and drinking. Katy loves to get drunk at karaoke bars, and she has a special affinity for the song “Hotel California.”

Relationship Status… single. Even though she has been friends with Shaun for many years and the two get along very well, they have never been romantically involved. Katy’s grandmother asks Shaun when he is going to ask her out, to which he replies that they are just friends. Katy’s grandmother laughs it off, as she knows there is something special between the two. 

Challenge… finding out that Shaun is not who she thinks he is. Shaun isn’t even his real name; his name is Shang-Chi. Everything came to light when they were on a bus and some men attacked Shang-Chi. Although Shang-Chi exhibited some impressive fighting skills, the other men got away with his pendant. Shocked, Katy says “I know you don't like to talk about your life, but a guy with a freaking machete for an arm just chopped our bus in half!” Shang-Chi tells her he is leaving for China to get his pendant back. He warns Katy not to join him, as he knows (but Katy doesn’t) that his journey will be a dangerous one, as he prepares to face his past. Undeterred, Katy goes along for the ride and soon finds herself entangled with the Army of Ten Rings in a fight for her life.

Personality… caring, direct, and honest. Katy is playful, often making witty remarks and cracking jokes in serious situations. She says whatever is on her mind, and people can be taken aback by her directness. Although others may consider Katy lazy, she is discovering her true strength in China.
