Joe Potter

Profession… currently tasked with maintaining a small, remote lodge in the middle of the snowy wilderness with Matt, a man he doesn’t know much about. That doesn’t bother him at first, as he prefers to keep to himself anyway.

Relationship Status... single. He once had a long-term girlfriend, Beth, who he was very happy with. However, his drinking problem strained their relationship as when drunk, he tended to be short-tempered, and sometimes this aggression would be directed towards her. He was determined to win her back and express his determination to be better for her¬—not just as a boyfriend but also a potential future husband and father to their children. He doesn’t want to give up on her, not even after she made it completely clear that she was done with him by blocking him everywhere.

Challenge... getting through the long, repetitive days in the lodge. And that’s not easy with Matt around. When Matt asked him why he is always suspicious of him, Joe answers: “Shall I answer chronologically or alphabetically?”

Personality... very complicated. Before the lodge, he was quite tenacious and could probably even be described as obsessive. He struggled with respecting boundaries set by Beth as he was desperate to prove to her—whether through letters or showing up at public places he knew she frequented—that he was deserving of being welcomed back into her life. Now in the lodge, he is reclusive and introverted and seemingly quite remorseful of the extreme lengths he took to try and get what he wanted.
