Overview... disillusioned wife and mother in the middle of a bitter divorce. Joanna left her husband Ted and took him to divorce court to battle for custody of their son. Ted is a workaholic and Joanna has never had a chance to “find herself.” That was her reason for leaving.
Personality… lost and depressed. Joanna began a court case to gain custody over her son Billy, but she isn’t even sure if that’s what she wants. She realizes the pain she is causing to Billy and Ted, but she feels that first and foremost she owes it to herself to figure out her place in this world.

Ted Kramer is a career man for whom his work comes before his family. His wife Joanna cannot take this anymore, so she decides to leave him. Ted is now faced with the tasks of housekeeping and taking care of himself and their young son Billy.
