Joan Carol Clayton

Grew up… in Fresno, California. Joan’s parents were not always there for her because they were too busy fighting and ultimately getting divorced. Thankfully, she also had her best friend Toni to lean on.

Profession... top corporate lawyer. Joan is an overachiever, always trying to get the best cases at her firm. As the only black woman, however, she needs to work twice as hard as everyone else to get half the credit.

Interests... music, paintings, and the latest culinary arts. Joan also loves to throw her friends parties. She always wants to show the appreciation she has for her friends. Her girls are everything to her, and she will go above and beyond to make sure they know that.

Relationship Status… single and ready to mingle. Joan has a great house, career, and friends, but she feels that her life is incomplete without a husband. Joan standards are relatively high, so it’s a challenge to find that special guy to settle down with. 

Challenge… setting the bar too high. Joan has sky high aspirations, but that means she is often disappointed that she hasn’t achieved enough.

Personality... determined, loyal, and responsible. Joan is hyper-focused on getting what she wants. Whether it’s helping her friends, getting her dream case, or her man of the month, Joan always finds a way to succeed. Her tunnel vision, however, makes her stubborn. This makes it difficult for Joan to listen to advice, leaving her in sticky situations.
