Living... in the San Fernando Valley with his family. His old man's a television repairman, which doesn't pay a lot of money, so they live in a trailer home.
Profession... student at Ridgemont High. Most of the other students are way too serious for Jeff, who'd rather hang around smoking weed than do any work.
Interests... surfing. For him, surfing is not a sport; it's a way of life. As he says, "It's a way of looking at that wave and saying ‘Hey bud let's party!’" And Jeff does his share of partying: he has been stoned since third grade.
Relationship Status… single. Jeff won't turn down any offers, but he's not the kind of guy to settle down. Though he does like Linda – mainly for her breasts.
Challenge... passing history class. Jeff's currently failing, and if he doesn't get his grades up, he might not even graduate. If his history teacher, Mr. Hand, hassles him again, Spicoli says he can't be he;d responsible for what happens.
Personality... too cool for school. Some people call him a slacker, but Jeff is anything but. In his own way, he's actually very ambitious: Jeff's driven to have fun and become the best surfer he can be.

Follows a group of high school students growing up in southern California, based on the real-life adventures chronicled by Cameron Crowe. Stacy Hamilton and Mark Ratner are looking for a love interest, and are helped along by their older classmates, Linda Barrett and Mike Damone, respectively. The center of the film is held by Jeff Spicoli, a perpetually stoned surfer dude who faces off with the resolute Mr. Hand, who is convinced that everyone is on dope.

Welcome to lunch court. That's Spicoli over there, trying hard to unwrap a bologna sandwich. His eyes are still red-rimmed from the three bowls of dope he smoked after his morning surf. Stacy Hamilton doesn't look any different even though she finally lost her virginity last night. Linda Barrett, Stacy's best bud, wants to hear all about it. After all, she gives lessons. And here comes Brad Hamilton, king of the lunch court and prince of the fast-food employee hierarchy. Brad's guy who takes pride in his fries. Mike Damone takes pride in the Attitude, which he developed in Philly, his hometown, where "life is cheap." And here's that wussy Mark Ratner. Girls make him sweat. He'll do more than sweat when he turns up in the yearbook class picture with something missing.
