Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Overview... a bemused valet dragged around by his master. When Jean signed up to serve Victorian gentleman Phileas Fogg, all Jean wanted was a good, honest job– not an eccentric Englishman who would promptly bet he could travel the world in eighty days. Now stuck trailing Fogg, Jean has to contend with opium dealers, unfamiliar traditions, and a detective who seems convinced that Fogg is not who he says he is.

Personality... curious, expressive, and spontaneous. He and Fogg could not be more different. Fogg is a stoic, calculated man with no time for sightseeing, and Jean is constantly amazed by the countries and customs he encounters. Jean’s love of novelty might occasionally get him in trouble, but for him, it's the journey that definitely outweighs their destination.
