Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Grew Up… thieving on the Isle of the Lost. As the son of Jafar, he learned to look out for himself, in the mantra his dad taught him. As he says, “There’s no team in I.” It’ll take more than a broken genie’s lamp for Jay to discover what teamwork really means.

Visiting… Auradon and plotting his grandest heist yet with his friends. Auradon Prep is a big shift from where he grew up, especially when it comes to the school’s sporting team, full of princes too polite to win victories like the ones Jay knows.

Profession… MVP on the school tourney team. A good trickster can always adapt to his surroundings but following the rules and “teamwork” seem to be much more valuable on the sports field than trickery and theft. Surprisingly, Jay is finding sports fun and is starting to use his energy to score wins for Auradon Prep, instead of scoring old teapots from the allies.

Interests… socializing. The party doesn’t get started until Jay arrives.

Relationship Status… single. Jay is a charmer. He can be found flirting with the girls at school with lines such as this: "Hello, foxy. The name's Jay."

Challenge… fitting in. After being mostly self-dependent his whole life, Jay needs to figure out how to work as a team and strengthen his bonds as well as his muscles.

Personality… cocky, charismatic, and aloof. Although Jay has a detached exterior, he’s starting to build a softer side of him, caring for his friends and wanting them to succeed.
