Character Analysis

Living… in Woodstone Mansion, a beautiful country house that his wife Sam inherited from a distant relative. Technically, only his wife Sam lives with him. But Jay is discovering that they have other roommates: ghosts who are cursed to spend eternity at Woodstone instead of passing on to the afterlife.
Profession… bed and breakfast owner. Jay is an amateur chef and is using those skills to run a bed and breakfast. He invested most of his finances into fixing up the house and starting the business, so he really needs it to work out for him and Sam.
Interests… playing Dungeons and Dragons, watching basketball, and cooking.
Relationship Status… married happily to Samantha. The solidity of his relationship with Sam provides him with much-needed consistency in some unimaginable circumstances.
Challenge… a changing power dynamic between him and Samantha. Given that Sam can see ghosts and Jay cannot, she has an advantage over him in their home. She has new friends that Jay can only communicate with through her. It creates some complexities in how they navigate boundaries and transparency.
Personality… a bit nerdy, trusting, and logical. It regularly takes a fair amount of convincing from Sam to get him to factor in the feelings of the ghosts. It is hard for him to imagine people he cannot see and put their needs over his own. However, he does always manage to do the right thing and grows better because of it.
