Character Analysis
(Avoiding Spoilers)
Overview... the stereotype of the slick and sleazy Wall Street trader. He's fast talking, sharp dressing, and cares about nothing except making money. Lots and lots of money. He makes an unlikely ally to Mark Baum, a hedge fund manager who lives to call out the crooked deals that are Jared's bread and butter. The two agree to work together on a deal that only works out if the housing market and American economy tank. He doesn't care, though, as long as he makes his share of the profits.
Personality... selfish, cocky, and charismatic. His job is making hundreds of millions of dollars for his clients and he is very good at his job. He fits right in both on Wall Street and at a Vegas blackjack table. Jared spends his gym sessions and trips to the bathroom yelling at his assistant, but that's par for the course at Deutsche Bank. He's a smooth-talking people person until he gets what he wants from those people – then they're nothing but obstacles between him and more cash.
