Profession… President of the United States. It’s not clear how Janie Orlean was elected to the highest office. She’s unprincipled and self-serving, and her staff is completely unqualified. In fact, her clueless son serves as her Chief of Staff.
Interests… fame, power, and smoking. Janie loves the perks of her job, and her office is filled with pictures of her with famous celebrities.
Relationship Status… secretly dating her Supreme Court nominee, who is a former adult film star. Their relationship is not such a secret anymore, after her texts to him leaked with pictures of Janie naked. This news could end her political career, so Janie is desperately finding a way to distract the public from this scandal.
Challenge… holding on to political power. A master maneuverer, Janie is determined to continue to be influential and relevant in American politics. With her favorability ratings plunging, she has come up with a plan to restore her power: announcing that the world is about to end and that she will be Earth’s savior. Although Janie can be dishonest, the news about the world ending is unfortunately true. Two University of Michigan astronomists predict that there is a 99.78% chance that an asteroid 6-9 kilometers wide that is headed straight toward Earth will wipe out all of humanity. A lot is riding on Janie to avert this disaster, and that’s scary for the world.
Personality… egotistical, power-hungry, and ambitious. Holding the office of the President gives Janie a lot of control. Her judgment is completely clouded by her ego and desperation for political relevancy. The combination of her poor judgment and influence is potentially deadly. But at least she provides some laughs along the way.
