(Avoiding Spoilers)
Overview… a Rabbi who is torn between his love of God and his love for a woman. The charismatic son from a successful family of investment bankers, Jake decided to do something different with his life. He’s used his talents with people by becoming a rabbi at his local Manhattan synagogue. Jake’s funny and personable sermons have filled the pews at B’nai Ezra synagogue, but the more conservative and traditional higher-ups don’t want him to become head Rabbi until he finds himself a nice Jewish wife.
Personality… quick-witted, charming, and confused. Jake is devoted to his faith, but he’s finding it difficult to balance his dedication to his religion with his romantic needs. The sociable Jake just wants to meet a woman in “a spontaneous and casual manner.” Things manage to change when he rekindles a relationship with Anna, a childhood friend. The only problem is that the Anna isn’t Jewish, which means that they need to keep their relationship secret.
