Overview… a neurotic interior designer from New York. Jack tends to hide his insecurities and fears behind sarcastic, witty remarks. His girlfriend, a French-born photographer named Marion, puts up with his neuroses with aplomb, especially his quintessentially American fear of germs and terrorists. Though things have started to change in their relationship – when a trip to visit Marion’s parents in Paris turns into a tour of all her old exes, Jack’s insecurity begins to rear its ugly head.
Personality… witty, high-strung, and germophobic. Jack likes things a particular way: he prefers cleanliness, hygiene, and clean-cut monogamy. It is especially the seemingly loose sexual mores of Paris that make him uncomfortable – specifically those mores that have guided Marion’s past sex life.
