Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Grew Up… sometime long ago, but, unfortunately, he can’t remember much about it. The first thing Jack recalls is being lifted out of a frozen pond by the Man in the Moon.

Living… wherever he pleases. Jack has been transformed into the spirit Jack Frost, able to create ice and snow and to fly wherever he wishes. He loves to play harmless tricks and brings winter fun to kids.

Profession… none, as far as he’s concerned. Jack doesn’t know why he’s still alive, or why no one can see him. But now a group of other mythological characters – including Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and Sandman – are telling him he's he’s supposed to be a Guardian, charged with saving the world’s children from danger. But Jack’s not a big fan of the idea, protesting, “You're all hard work and deadlines, and I'm all snowballs and fun times.” Still, the threat posed by the sinister Pitch Black, aka the Boogeyman, seems quite real.

Interests… fun. Snowball fights? Check. Sledding? Check. Jack’s all about clowning around, and he loves to pulling kids into his schemes. The more the merrier, after all.

Relationship Status… single. Dating isn't really an issue for him right now. Jack’s more concerned about trying to figure out who he was in the past and what he’s supposed to be doing now. Although the Tooth Fairy does seem quite taken – if not with Jack, at least with his teeth.

Challenge… recovering his memories. In order to do that, though, he’s going to have to team up with the other Guardians to defeat Pitch, a boogieman who brings fear into children’s dreams by turning them into nightmares. But Jack has a harder time of it than the other Guardians, since most children don’t believe in Jack Frost and thus can’t see or hear him.

Personality… adventurous, curious, and fun-loving. Jack hates to take things seriously, preferring to crack a joke or throw a snowball. But at his core, he truly cares about protecting people, especially children. He might be mostly fun and games, but Jack Frost isn't going to stand for Pitch’s agenda of fear.
