Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Overview… a quirky Scottish playwright who is completely out of place in London high society. He gets along far better with children and those who are young at heart than he does with grown-ups – even if that adult is his own wife. It may not always make for an easy existence, but it’s the perfect disposition to write the kids’ classic Peter Pan, as Barrie eventually does.

Personality… imaginative, friendly, and generous. Jim is a doting, loving friend of the Llewelyn Davies family, often playing elaborate games of make-believe for hours on end. He is silly – some would say immature – and enjoys entertaining others, even if his actions cause some disapproving scowls and upturned noses by more formal adults.
