Overview... a fearless knight loyal to King Richard. Ivanhoe might have fought nobly in the Crusades, but his troubles don't end when he gets back to England. Now that he's back from battle, Ivanhoe's facing a series of problems even his skillful sword can't cut through: he's estranged from his father, rebels are rising against the King, and his true love is already engaged to another man. Ouch.
Personality... noble, just, and brave. Knightly in both title and personality, Ivanhoe is the perfect example of medieval chivalry, making him a welcome ally to King Richard. Like many of the Christians around him, he also has an unfortunate anti-Semitic streak, but his attitude has been softening ever since he was rescued by beautiful Jewish healer Rebecca.
