Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Overview… Director of Public Relations and Research for New York governor Nelson Rockefeller in the 1960s. As part of his job he interacts with many of the governor’s constituents, including the beautifully captivating, albeit married, Betty Draper. But Betty isn’t happy in her marriage, and so their burgeoning friendship may blossom into romance.

Personality… responsible, even-keeled, and mostly wholesome. Henry is a standup guy whom Betty can count on, which is basically the opposite of her dashing but mercurial husband Don. Henry is serious and driven and holds a then-traditional view on family life.
