Gregor Samsa

Overview... a normal man in a very abnormal predicament. Gregor led an ordinary life, going to work every day, but now that he's been transformed into a gigantic insect, all that changes. With neither opposable thumbs nor the ability to communicate, Gregor is stuck at home, fed by his younger sister while his parents avoid him.

Personality... conventional, hard-working, and dutiful. As a human, Gregor was his family's main bread-winner, a role he wasn't particularly happy with but which he nonetheless continued to perform. After years of hating his job, Gregor seems to have finally found a way out: involuntarily changing into an insect.
