Grew Up… in New Jersey as a smart, tough loner with glasses who battled the playground bullies who belittled her.

Visiting… San Antonio, Texas to compete in the 75^th annual Miss United States beauty pageant.

Profession… one of the FBI’s top special agents. Because of threats by an anonymous terrorist known as “The Citizen,” Gracie is tasked with going undercover as Miss New Jersey (alias Gracie Lou Freebush)to make sure all the women competing stay safe. She’s never been much of a girly-girl, so Gracie is less than thrilled with her newest assignment. She can’t imagine herself in heels, especially not on stage in front of millions of viewers.

Interests… self-defense and doughnuts. While she’s forced to stop indulging in the latter in order to prepare for the pageant, her knowledge of self-defense saves Gracie’s place in the competition, even endearing her to the crowd. 

Relationship Status… single. Her tough exterior keeps everyone — including the men she’s interested in — at an arm’s length. Although her partner, Eric, is starting to look at Gracie a little differently since she started waxing and wearing form-fitting dresses…

Challenge… blending in with the other contestants. The frazzled, masculine Gracie has a tough time adjusting to pageant life. To her surprise, being in a pageant is a lot harder than she gave those girls credit for. One of the hardest things she’s had to do is figure out a way to conceal her firearm during the swimsuit competition. More importantly, Gracie has to follow her instincts to put the pieces together, so she can find out who “The Citizen” is before he blows one of the contestants sky-high.

Personality… intelligent, brave, and independent. Gracie has always seen her independence and strength as mutually exclusive to femininity, so she initially looks down on her fellow pageant competitors and resists acting and dressing “lady-like.” As she gets to know them though, she discovers her fellow competitors are just bright, compassionate women looking to make a difference in the world. As she reluctantly admits after her time undercover is over, “I really do want world peace!”
