Grew Up… without his parents. Raised instead by Aunt Mito, the only things he knows about his mother and father are from the stories told.

Profession… Rookie Hunter. Gon spends his time on extravagant adventures with his friends, traveling around the world and meeting all types of companions and enemies. With the profession of a Hunter, each day is full of surprises, whether that’s riding giant carnivorous pigs or fighting a member of the Phantom Troupe. Although he never knows what’s ahead, Gon barrels without fear. As he says to an adversary, "I won’t have to show you any mercy. I can defeat you without hesitation.”

Interests… his trusty fishing rod and any sort of game. When not defeating evil warlocks, Gon spends all of his time goofing around with his best friend Killua, as two kids do. There isn’t much time to be a child in the job of a Hunter, but if there’s a will, there’s a way. Gon will make the most tedious task into a competition if he has the chance of beating his friends.

Challenge… finding his father. Or rather, the reason why his father would leave behind his children for a profession as a Hunter. The absence of his father hasn’t left Gon, and the hole in Gon’s life is gaping. All he wants is a father-son bond, or at least an explanation. After all, it’s the whole reason why Gon decided to take the Hunter Exam in the first place.

Personality… cheerful, friendly, and rambunctious. When responsibility is thrust upon you at such a young age, what can be expected but a little bit of chaos? Gon sees the best in everyone he meets – whether it’s for better or for worse, only time will tell. Nonetheless, his charm and quick-witted thinking make a lasting impression on everyone—and lead him to find friends such as Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio.
