Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Grew Up… in an unstable household, eventually fleeing for her own safety. Georgia has since traveled all around the country, along the way marrying (then divorcing) men and having two children.

Living… in Wellsbury, Massachusetts. Leaving a string of deaths, separations, and sprawls behind, Georgia tells Ginny she plans for them to finally lay down roots and stay in their new small town.

Interests… protecting her children. Although Ginny might hate her mother’s crazy schemes, she realizes that Georgia’s main goal is to shield her and Austin from the many dangers outside—by any means necessary. As Georgia herself says: “I’d do anything to protect my kids like no one ever protected me. Anything.”

Relationship Status… single, although it doesn’t appear like that will last. After splitting from Ginny’s father, Georgia has had no trouble finding other men to date and marry, and Wellsbury seems to be no different. Georgia particularly has her eye on the charming town mayor even though she doesn’t know much about him.

Challenge… moving forward. Georgia doesn’t have the cleanest track record, and her previous actions threaten to collapse her new town life and expose who she really is. From credit card declines to strange figures lurking near her house, it doesn’t look like she can escape or deny her past for much longer. On top of that, her tight-knit relationship with Ginny seems to be dwindling with each passing day, due to Georgia’s own missteps and Ginny’s new life she’s desperate to protect.

Personality… protective, feisty, determined, and impulsive. Georgia definitely is no textbook mother, which is fine with her. She and Ginny have always had each other’s backs (as Georgia says, “We’re like the Gilmore girls...but with bigger boobs!”). However, it seems that lately their strong personalities seem to result in more clashing than comforting.
