Character Analysis

Overview... a member of Mystery Inc., a group of four young people and their talking Great Dane who solve supernatural cases. Fred usually takes the lead on the investigating – though Velma often unravels the mystery first – and specializes in setting elaborate (sometimes overly elaborate) traps for the ghosts and ghouls they encounter. Invariably the supposedly paranormal creatures turn out to be criminals and other baddies in disguise.
Personality... cool, calm, and collected. Fred is a natural leader. He might not be the most exciting guy in the world, but he approaches each case with the seriousness and care it deserves. He is tolerant of the antics of Shaggy and Scooby-Doo – they’re typically too scared and hungry to help much – and works diligently with Daphne and Velma to solve the latest mystery. Some might find the preppy, ascot-wearing Fred a bit bland, but not Daphne; they spend an awful lot of time going off alone.

The Mystery Inc. gang have gone their separate ways and have been apart for two years, until they each receive an invitation to Spooky Island. Not knowing that the others have also been invited, they show up and discover an amusement park that affects young visitors in very strange ways.

They are forever running into ghosts, zombies, and other ghouls, though in truth the supposedly supernatural visions usually turn out to be fakes perpetrated by folks who are up to no good.
