Fran

Grew Up... in a traditional and tight-knit Nigerian-British household with her parents and her brother Lamar. Her relationship with her extended family, while wonderful and very close, takes some work.

Living... in Portland, Oregon, with her roommate and best friend, Annie, and their very small, very spoiled dog, Bonkers.

Profession... a hairdresser, which she loves because she’s her own boss. She’s great at it, even if she’s occasionally paid in stolen clothing. Her charm also makes her great at connecting with her clients, and they love to debrief about their personal lives and drama in her chair. Even though Fran loves her job, her parents are still pressuring her to do something more lucrative, like becoming a lawyer, which she has no interest in.

Relationship Status... complicated, always, but she’s okay with that. Fran likes to get around, and she’s currently trying to balance casually dating two women. She can be a bit of a heartbreaker, but it’s not really her fault—she just also knows what she wants and won’t apologize for it. As Fran says, “I don’t need to figure things out. I like what I’m doing with my life.”

Challenges... balancing her two relationships without either of them finding out or getting upset with her lack of emotional commitment. She’s also not a fan of her roommate’s current hookup/boyfriend/whatever, whose name keeps coming up. Annie’s her best friend, and Fran thinks she deserves a lot better.

Personality... confident and charismatic. Fran is a huge flirt with a bigger heart. She’s also an amazing friend—even though she’s usually very outgoing and bubbly, she will turn on a dime if you hurt anyone she loves.
