Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Grew Up… in poverty. Despite her current regal status, Ravenna’s former indigence haunts her to this day. She looks down in cold disdain at her starving citizens, remarking: “Do you remember when we were children, begging for scraps like those wretches?”

Living... a life of luxury. As a forceful usurper backed by a bloodthirsty Dark Army, she is one of the few individuals in Tabor who still enjoys excess. According to citizens, “so poisonous was the reign of Ravenna that nature turned on itself and people turned on each other. The land died and with it, hope.”

Profession... queen/sorceress. Unleashing her dark powers of destruction, Ravenna terrorizes the people of Tabor, forcing them to obey her every whim. She commands allegiance from all. Anybody who dares to rise up will face a painful death. She even locks up her own stepdaughter, Snow White, lest she become a potential rival.

Relationship Status... widowed. Ravenna quickly took Tabor’s throne for herself after murdering King Magnus on their wedding night. Her distaste for men is clear: “Men use women. They ruin us and when they are finished with us, they toss us to their dogs like scraps.”

Challenge... preserving her looks. Ravenna’s agelessness is the result of a spell that allows her to maintain her beauty. In order to prolong its effects, she must constantly drain the life out of various young women. Resources are low, but Ravenna has discovered a potentially permanent solution: the heart of her stepdaughter, Snow White.

Personality... merciless and manipulative. Tabor isn’t the first kingdom to fall under Ravenna’s control. She has used her charm to deceive many rulers, only to turn on them and assume power herself.
