Living... in total silence. Evelyn once lived a normal life, but everything changed with the sudden arrival of blind extraterrestrial creatures who hunt by sound. They devastated the planet, and now the only survivors are those who can live their lives without making a sound. Evelyn and her family largely use American Sign Language to communicate with one another.

Profession... survivor and mother. Before the invasion, Evelyn was a doctor. Now, however, she’s first and foremost a survivalist. She and her husband Lee have worked hard to create a safe home for their children. They have created many defensive systems to be used in a crisis.

Interests... growing food, cooking, and homeschooling her children.

Relationship Status... married. Their horrific situation has only brought Evelyn and Lee closer together. They rely on each other for strength, support, and love. Though their lives have been marked by great tragedy, they’ve also experienced joy as well. They’re even expecting a new baby any day now.

Challenge... giving her kids a stable life. Despite the dangers around them, Evelyn wants to give her kids as full a life as possible. In addition to ensuring their survival, she prioritizes their emotional and intellectual well being as well. She home schools her children to give them a strong academic background, despite their strange environment. However, practicalities are at the forefront of her mind when it comes to her impending baby. Heavily pregnant, Evelyn faces the added challenge of giving birth and raising a newborn in silence.

Personality... brave, nurturing, and tough-as-nails. Evelyn has a huge amount of inner fortitude and an impressive ability to withstand both physical and emotional pain. However, she doesn’t want to let the invasion rob her of her humanity. She seeks to be a warm, nurturing presence for her family. As she tells her young son, “Your father will always protect you. Always. Listen to me, it’s important that you learn these things. He just wants you to be able to take care of yourself, to take care of me, when I’m old, and grey, and I have no teeth. Don’t worry.”
