Erin Brockovich

Grew Up... believing that she was destined to lead a great life. She was even Miss Witchita, but since then, life hasn’t turned out the way she imagined.

Living... in a small dump with Salvation Army furniture and her three children. Erin tries to make it into a home despite all the water bugs infesting the place. Unfortunately, she can't afford an exterminator. She only has $16 in the bank.

Profession... file clerk. Before that, she was unemployed and searched desperately everywhere for a job. As she says, "When you've spent the past six years raising babies, it's real hard to find somebody who pays worth a damn." She finally convinced Ed to hire her for his law firm.

Relationship Status... twice divorced. She has been spending time with her next-door neighbor, George, who looks after her kids while she works. Erin is initially distrustful of George, and does not understand why he would want to make her life easier. It has been a long time since someone tried to help her, so she is out of practice trusting others.

Challenge... helping with a pro-bono case involving Pacific Gas & Electric. Through her diligent fact-finding, she has discovered that the water around the PG&E facility is tainted with poisonous chemicals. As a result, hundreds of locals have come down with a variety of serious illnesses including cancer. She may not have a law degree, but she's spent 18 months on the case. She knows more about those plaintiffs than any lawyer ever will and, for the first time, people actually respect her.

Personality... a tough fighter in high heels and plunging necklines. Although the legal world can be a man’s world, Erin Brockovich is slowing breaking down barriers.
