Character Analysis
(Avoiding Spoilers)
Overview... a 12th century English Queen who is imprisoned and estranged from her husband, King Henry II. But Eleanor still has political power within the royal family. She enters a strategic and conniving battle of wits and politics with the King regarding which son will ascend the throne after he is gone. She prefers Richard, while Henry prefers John. And in order to come to an agreement, blood or tears – and maybe both – will need to be shed.
Personality… energetic and shrewd. Eleanor is full of ruses and deceit. If you ask her a straight question you’d be hard pressed to get a straight answer. There are always subtexts and hidden connotations to her promises and declarations. If there’s one thing that forced captivity has taught her, it’s to trust no one.
