Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Growing up… in Sherman Oaks, California with her father Paul, and stepmother Sharon. Her biological mother, Joyce, left Eleanor to pursue her acting career.

Profession… sophomore at Sherman Oaks High School. When Eleanor finishes school, she is determined to become an actress like her mom. In the meantime, she’ll settle for roles in her school plays.

Interests… rollerblading and fashion. Eleanor loves to wear bright colors and has an individual sense of fashion – namely, her single feathered earring that she thinks gives her a self-proclaimed “cool” asymmetrical look. She happily spends a lot of time hanging out with her two best friends, Devi and Fabiola.

Relationship Status… single—but hopefully not for much longer if her friend Devi has anything to do with it. Eleanor has been tasked by Devi to pursue Boris, a Russian exchange student to elevate their friend group’s social status. Eleanor is less excited about this than Devi.

Challenges… going along with Devi’s multi-step plan to become popular, balancing her dreams of being an actress, and struggling to reconnect with her mother.

Personality… quirky and unapologetically so. Eleanor tends to be melodramatic (see: star-studded actress dreams) and can be quite sensitive. Even her “serious” mood is more of a dramatized one.
